In order to foster a sense of selflessness service to others and grounded in the principles of self justice, Woodlands Academy commits itself "to educate to a social awareness which impels to action". Students contribute over 6, 500 hours per year to service. WE encourage students to share their time and talent with each other, as well as communities outside the school. All Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors are required to complete 20 hours of service and write a reflection paper. In addition Seniors are required to do a project, which examines their service experience at Woodlands.
